Mayor Berry’s Community Call to Action,
In Albuquerque we are lucky to have a wonderful climate with 310 days of sunshine a year and beautiful landscapes. From the mountains to the Bosque, from the volcanos to the valleys we have great trail systems and wonderful places to get healthy.
But if you are like most of us, sometimes it seems like an overwhelming challenge to get started on a healthier lifestyle. We are so busy that it seems difficult to make time for our own health and wellness. Because we are constantly bombarded with quick fixes and overly complicated diet and exercise programs it is easy to just give up on the prospect of a healthier you.
The good news is that is about to change in Albuquerque. The better news is that we are going to do it together and we are going to have fun and make new friends in the process!
Let’s make it simple Albuquerque. Getting healthier does not have to be hard or even complicated. It’s as easy as lacing up a pair of shoes and taking a walk.
Dr. Barry Ramo and I are challenging you to join us as we walk a few more steps every day on our way to better health with the new “Step It Up Albuquerque!” initiative.
The simple act of putting one foot in front of the other makes you healthier, gives you more energy, and makes you younger. Plus, doing it lets you talk with friends, think through problems, and see what's new in the neighborhood.
Step It UP Albuquerque!
